COURSE INFORMATION

Theatre Arts
​ONE

This course is designed to sample a large array of acting aspects as a jumping off point prior to advancing. This class must be taken and passed or approval prior to enrolling in other acting class. Students will cover the basics of acting including: vocalization, movement, improv, playwriting, theatre history, script analysis, character analysis, and the art of storytelling. This course will cover a wide range of material, but designed to work with each individual student and their needs. Once completing this class, students will be equipped with all fundamental knowledge before advancing into more advanced acting disciplines as well as to help with critical thinking, public speaking, and teamwork skills.

Theatre Arts
TWO

This course is designed for the student that wants to continue learning and participating in acting. We will work at a faster pace with more complex ideas, critical thinking, collaboration, and creation. Students will participate in various acting techniques that will broaden the range of abilities as well as enhance the actors “tool kit”. The knowledge learned within this course will be able to be applied to current and/or future acting possibilities. Designed to give the student actor the opportunity to explore the acting process through modern realistic dramatic literature and to continue his/her development of a method for building an honest and believable character.

PIRATE PERFORMERS

This advanced level course is designed for the student that wants to continue learning and participating in acting. We will work at a faster and more student led activities with complex ideas, critical thinking, collaboration, and creation. During this class students will work together collaboratively to create student run works of theatre on the stage for performance and technical experience. The knowledge learned within this course will be able to be applied to current and/or future theatre possibilities. This class is aimed at ensemble  work for the students applying complex principles, theories, and production work.

Stagecraft
​ONE

Stagecraft is designed to give you a basic understanding of design, construction and/or use of theatrical scenery, properties, lighting equipment, sound equipment, theatrical rigging systems and the proper and SAFE use of hand and power tools associated with these areas. This is a hands-on class and all students are expected to participate. There will be reading assignments and other special materials on which class discussions will be based.

Stagecraft
TWO

Stagecraft 2 is designed to give students ownership and analysis of design, construction and/or use of theatrical scenery, properties, lighting equipment, sound equipment, theatrical rigging systems and the proper and SAFE use of hand and power tools associated with these areas. Students will produce a portfolio of their work as well as leadership with Stagecraft 1 and shows. This is a hands-on class and all students are expected to participate. There will be reading assignments and other special materials on which class discussions will be based.
